I LOVE J.Crew. No secret, I talk about the retailer all the time. The brand partnerships, I adore. The style guide. The color mixing. The pattern mismatching. THE CECE FLATS. The lipstick colors on the models. The wait their suits fit my husband. The casual dresses that can go from beach to office to a dinner out. XOXO, J.Crew. You’ll always be my retail soulmate. 

Today I met.

Today I met not one, but two girls who wanted to learn more about my employer, and the culture of the workplace, which I took to mean, “what makes me tick? What makes me get out of bed and go to work, every single day?” 

And it made me think for two seconds, and made me say, out loud, that it’s the people. Through conference reports and planning meetings and phone calls and runs-of-shows and busy busy busy days, I get out of bed each day because I’m a member of one pretty damn kickass team and for that, I am eternally thankful.
